The Wine Routes are a special form of agritourism giving you the opportunity to know this heritage. These routes pass through the more picturesque grapevine regions and wineries. You are welcome to taste local wines paired with traditional appetizers and titbits, and to explore nearby traditional villages and archaeological sites. Sip your glass of red, rosé or white wine in the peaceful Greek countryside, a delight as simple as it is memorable. “Wine makes glad the heart of man” is an ancient saying, the truth of which you are invited to experience in a winery in Greece.

Welcome to Athens, Greece!

Day 1: Athens arrival (_,_,D)

Arrival in Athens. Meet our staff at the Athens airport, welcome- Transfer to hotel. In the afternoon walk (escort upon request) to Plaka, Athens old town and Monastiraki area and have dinner at a local tavern with souvlaki and shish Kebab dishes.

Day 2: Nemea Wineries visit (B,_,_)

Today will visit one of the best wine producer areas in Greece, known from the ancient times, Nemea. After breakfast drive south to Peloponnese. On the way we will stop at Corinth Canal with the breathtaking views, for photos. Continue to Nemea. Nemea’s vineyards are roughly divided into 3 zones according to the altitude. At the valley of Nemea, lowest altitudes, the light reds and dessert wines are produced. In the midle the best age-worthy reds are produced and at an altitude up to 900 meters,the aromatic rosé wines and fresh reds are made. We will visit 3 wineries where you will have the chance to taste some of the best PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) wines and especial the Agiorgitiko red one, paired with traditional appetizers . Return to Athens. In the evening party the night away having a drink in one of numerous bars at Monastiraki with Acropolis view

Day 3: Athens walking street food tour – Greek night. (B,_,D)

This 4hrs tour takes you through all areas of Athens and shows you some of the best stops for authentic Greek food. Taste the best of Greek cuisine like koulouri, kebab, Souvlaki, traditional pies, olive oil, wine, tsipouro, bougatsa, loukoumades, and much more. Skip breakfast and prepare for the ultimate food experience in Athens! Optional. Athens Greek night, around 23.00 hours transfer to a pista show (club, with popular Greek singers and bouzouki music) and party the night away like a Greek. Return to the hotel by taxi on your own. 

Day 4: Mesogia Wineries – Departure (B,_,_)

Today before departure we’ll visit two wineries in Mesogia area, the most important wine-making zone near Athens, a land with very ancient tradition in the cultivation of vineyards and the production of wine. We will test the well known white varieties Savatiano, Roditis, Assyrtiko, Malagousia, and Chardonnay and the red ones Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah accompanied with regional delicacies that bring out the best in the wines. Optional early evening dinner at a local tavern before transferring you to the airport for your flight back home
