Day 2: Kayaking at Nestos River (B,L,D)

Morning short drive to Kayaking base. Change cloths, life jacket etc and start the kayaking trip, flow through the scenic gorge of Nestos River where the surrounding forest is brimming with wildlife, It is a 4-5 hrs river downstream easy for all ages. In the midle of the route quick stop for pick nick lunch box with soft drink, before we arrive toToxotes base where we have short stop with snack and coffee. Return back to the Place we started the Kayaking with the local train (if available). Drive to hotel. Diner at a local tavern.

Day 3: Rodopi National park – Nestos river lake & dam – Ag. Varvara waterfalls – Volaka village (B,L,D)

After breakfast drive to Rodopi National Park, a landscape of exceptional beauty, marvelous variety of fauna and flora with unique wildlife and ecosystems. Visit Agia Varvara waterfall (swimming during summer months), then Thermia village with the old thermal medical waters. Lunch pick nick. Then drive to Elatia forest village and crossing Nestos bridge we arrive to Volaka village for overnight. Dinner at the hotel

Day 4: Kerkini Lake – Serres (B,L,D)
Departure towards the area of LaiLias mountain Ski center via Ano Vrontou. With a route of 3 hrs through deep beech forest and passing various forest villages we arrive to Sidirokastro and finally we arrive to Kerkini Lake where we have our pik nick. Then driving along the dam site of Lake Kerkini we observe wild birds and water buffalo and we arrive to Serres for overnight. Dinner at a nice tavern with delicious local dishes.

Day 5: Skra lake & waterfalls – Loutra Pozar – Kaimaktsalan(Voras mountain) – Agios Athanasios (B,L,D)
After breakfast long drive via Egnantia high way to Evzoni village. Then to Skra lake and waterfalls. where we have our pic nick We continue to loutra Pozar. Swimming at the hot waterfall. Short drive for coffee to the beauteful square of Orma village. Continue driving to Kaimaktsalan (Vorras) mountain ski center where we visit Saint Nikolaos church 2500mts weather permitting. Drive to traditional village of old Agios Athanasios for overnight. Dinner at a local tavern

Day 6: Florina – Prespa lake – Pindos mountain – Kastoria  (B,L,D)
Morning crossing Kaikmatsalan (Vorras) plateau to Florina. Walk in the old city along Sakoulevas river and coffee. Continue driving to lake Prespa. Boat trip to cave monasteries. Lunch at taverna next the lake.Then crossing Vitsi mountain and touring around lake’s peninsula we arrive to Kastoria. Dinner at a local tavern.

Day 7: Portitsa Canyon – Metsovo – Kalambaka – Meteora sunset (B,L,D)
Morning drive via Egnantia High way to Portitsa Canyon, Coffee. Then we visit biggest Arc Bridge of Aziz Aga. We continuous to traditional village of Metsovo, where we test its delicious smoked cheese and alevropita. Early afternoon we drive to Kalampaka . Visit Meteora sunset rock (viewpoint) for stunning sunset views . Dinner at a local tavern with bouzouki music..

Day 8: Meteora monastery visit & hiking – Thessaloniki – Departure (B,_,_)
Morning guided visit to Meteora one monastery standing between earth and the sky, atop of huge rocks and containing historical and religious treasures. Hiking from Agia Triada to KokaRoka. Lunch at the village. Then drive to Thessaloniki. Short city tour and drive to Thessaloniki airport for your departure.

NOTE: Departure might be also from Athens airport

Day 5: Loutra Pozar – Kaimaktsalan(Voras mountain) – Nymfeo village – Pindos mountain – Kastoria (B,L,D)
After breakfast via Egnatia road drive to Loutra Pozar where you can enjoy a swimming at the hot water fall. Short drive to Orma village, lunch at the beautiful square of the village. Continue driving to Kaimaktsalan (Vorras) mountain ski center where we visit Saint Nikolaos church 2500mts weather permitting. Then crossing Pindos mountain we stop at Nymfeo protected village for a walk in its narrows roads. We continue driving crossing Vitsi mountain and touring around lake’s peninsula we arrive to Kastoria. Dinner at a local tavern.

Day 6: Zagorochoria – Konitsa – Aoos River – Voidomatis River – Monodendri (B,L,D)
Kastoria to Zagoria, with the 46 traditional villages, via Grammos mountain, where we enjoy panoramic views of Aliakmonas river. We stop at Konitsa Arc bridge of Aoos river. Then we drive to Voidomatis river and bridge of Klidonia. Lunch at a local tavern near the river. We continuous to Papigo village, where we have a tour in the village and coffee. And continue our route in Zagori area we arrive to Monodendri for overnight. Dinner at a local tavern to test the local dishes and pies.

Day 7: Vikos gorge – Zagori arch stone bridges – Metsovo – Kalambaka -Meteora sunset (B,L,D)
Early morning walk to Agia Paraskevi monastery, vantage point of Vikos gorge. We continue to photoshop view point of Oxia with the amazing views of Vikos gorge. Next drive to famous bridges of Kokorou and Kalogeriko (or Plakida’s bridge) old stone bridges. We continue crossing Pindos National Park and Aoos Lake towards Metsovo traditional village, where we test its delicious smoked cheese and alevropita. Early afternoon we drive to Kalampaka . Visit Meteora sunset rock (viewpoint) for stunning sunset views . Dinner at a local tavern with bouzouki music.
