GTN Greece Tour #1 CLASSICAL GREECE WITH METEORA AND MACEDONIA ( 6 days/5 nights )

 2nd Tour Day: In the morning driving through the picturesque
country of Central Greece we arrive to our hotel at
Kalambaka. In the afternoon we'll visit Meteora and
enjoy the unique and most impressive scenery with its historic Byzantine
Monasteries, containing historical and religious treasures, standing
between earth and the sky atop huge rocks. Dinner and overnight at Kalambaka.
3th Tour day: Morning drive to Vergina to see the tomb of King Philip - Great Alexander's father - and the famous Vergina Gold Treasure. Afterwards we visit Dion, a place where there was an important sanctuary of Olympian Zeus or Dias. That's the name comes from. According to mythology here, Thyia, daughter of Deucalion, bore Zeus two sons, Magnes and Makedon, who lived in Pieria at the foot of Mount Olympus, Macedonian area. In the afternoon we arrive at Delphi where we have our dinner and overnight.

1st Tour Day: Athens sightseeing, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library.
Driving down Herod Atticus street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace.
On your way to the acropolis you will see the Hadrian’s Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896.
Then Acropolis, the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, and finally Parthenon-
a place any civilized person has to visit. We complete the visit with the
Museum of Acropolis. Dinner and overnight in Athens. Optionally in the night
you can have dinner at Plaka (Athens old town), in a Greek tavern with classical folklore program.
4th Tour Day: We will see Delphi,“the omfalos of the world”, the archeological site and the museum. At Delphi you might get Pythia’s
chrism for your future and the future of the world, as it has happen to many Kings and Emperors in the past. Even Alexander the Great got her advice
before conquering the word. Later we depart for Kourouta, a sea
side village near (40km) to Olympia or to Olympia where we have our dinner and overnight.
5th Tour Day: Morning in Olympia
where we visit the museum and the archeological site with the Olympic
stadium of 45,000 seating capacity. Here the first Olympic games took place in
776 B.C. In the afternoon we arrive at the beautiful Tolo, a small town
next to the sea for our dinner and overnight.
6th Tour Day:
This morning we'll visit the Homeric city of
Mycenae (1300 B.C.) to see the Lions Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the
Royal Tombs and later
we visit Epidavros, with the famous for its acoustics ancient theater
(4th century B.C.) Then after a short stop at
Corinth canal with its breathtaking view we arrive back to Athens in
the afternoon for the connections or an extra overnight in Athens.

per night in double room. The transfer to Athens, at the end of your stay, will be done with public
